Standing Committee Descriptions:
Contracted Services - Responsible for monitoring trends and issues which effect members who operate residential and non-residential services contracted with the New Jersey Department of Human Services and Federal Government agencies. Ad hoc committees shall form from this committee to represent current issues of the membership such as: group homes, treatment homes, residential treatment centers, aging out youth, independent living, transitional-living, shelters, juvenile justice, community services, etc. The chairs of these committees shall automatically serve on the contracted services committee.
Finance/Audit - Responsible for budget preparation and its presentation to the executive board and periodic (at least two (2) times a year) review of financial statements. It will also recommend the independent auditor for approval by the board and review the annual audit and report back to the executive board.
Nominating - Responsible for making recommendations to the membership for a slate for the offices to be filled at least one month prior to the annual meeting. Additional nominations, with the written consent of the nominee, may be made in writing by at least three regular members at least two weeks prior to the annual meeting, and shall be presented with the slate at the annual meeting.
Outcomes - Responsible for monitoring trends and developing methods to assist members in the collection of outcome measurement which effect members who contract for services with the New Jersey Department of Human Services.
Program/Training - Responsible for developing programs, conferences, and/or training opportunities to enhance agency and staff development.
Public Policy - Responsible for developing and reviewing the corporation’s positions on legislative, administrative and program policies.
Ad-Hoc Committee Descriptions:
Aging Out – Responsible for monitoring trends and issues which affect the operation and licensing of transitional-living programs, independent living programs and any other aging-out program. Members of this committee will be all agencies who run any kind of aging-out program.
Conference – Responsible for planning the alliance’s annual conference by developing the theme, format, workshop topics, securing the location, keynote speaker and workshop presenters, as well as helping out during the conference as needed.
Developmentally Disabled - Responsible for monitoring trends and issues which affect the operation and licensing of programs that serve youth with developmental delays and reporting same to the full membership on an ongoing basis. Members of this committee will be all agencies who run DD programs.
Group Home - Responsible for monitoring trends and issues which affect the operation and licensing of group homes and reporting same to the full membership on an ongoing basis. Members of this committee will be all agencies who run group home programs.
Human Resources - Responsible for monitoring trends and issues which affect the human resources departments and staff at NJACYF provider organizations and reporting same to the full membership on an ongoing basis. Members of this committee will be individuals who run the human resources department or office at NJACYF provider organizations.
Out-of-Home - Responsible for monitoring trends and issues which affect the operation and licensing of residential treatment centers and reporting same to the full membership on an ongoing basis. Members of this committee will be all agencies who run residential treatment centers.
Outcomes - Responsible for monitoring trends and developing methods to assist members in the collection of outcome measurement which effect members who contract for services with the NJ Department of Human Services.
Public Relations - Responsible for providing public information and education on issues relating to at-risk children and youth and their families, including the newsletter, agency brochure and other publications of the alliance.
Shelter – Responsible for monitoring trends and issues which affect the operation and licensing of shelters and reporting same to the full membership on an ongoing basis. Members of this committee will be all agencies who run shelter programs.
Strategic Planning – Responsible for making recommendations as to the direction of the corporation in terms of future activities, providing guidelines in scope of persons and specific activities needed to accomplish such goals and perspectives, and bringing such suggested changes as referenced above to the executive board, making recommendations to the board for consideration and deliberation.
Treatment Home - Responsible for monitoring trends and issues which affect the operation and licensing of treatment homes and reporting same to the full membership on an ongoing basis. Members of this committee are all agencies who run any kind of treatment home program.
The president is an ex-officio member of all committees.
